Phoenix Contact is extending its portfolio of industrial WLAN client modules with versions in accordance with Wi-Fi 6E (IEEE 802.11ax) for the new 6 GHz frequency band. This provides 24 new free transmission channels on which the Wi-Fi 6E modules can be used to exploit the full potential of the new IEEE 802.11ax features.

The WLAN modules for the 6 GHz band set new standards in industrial automation. The innovative devices based on Wi-Fi 6E/IEEE 802.11ax provide reliable, interference-free, and high-performance wireless networks specifically designed for demanding industrial applications. The new module types include the WLAN 1022 IP20 installation module and the robust WLAN 1122 panel-mount module. By utilizing the 6 GHz band, the modules enable a significant reduction in interference as well as improved network performance. This results in a higher data transmission rate and a more stable connection, even in environments with high network traffic. The modules are ideal for use in factories, warehouses, and other industrial environments where fast and reliable wireless communication is crucial.

“With the introduction of the new WLAN modules, we are providing our customers with a future-proof solution that meets the increasing demands of industrial automation,” says Jürgen Weczerek, Product Manager Network Technology at Phoenix Contact. “Our modules ensure seamless and efficient data exchange, which is essential for the success of modern industrial processes.”
