Charging inlet plus controller – the world first in detail

CHARX connect advanced vehicle charging inlet with integrated charging controller

Integrated intelligence – unique worldwide Charging inlet and controller combined in one component

CHARX connect advanced is the first CCS charging inlet with a directly integrated charging controller. The control unit is connected directly to the charging inlet both mechanically and electrically. This eliminates the need for external control devices and additional interfaces. The system architecture is simplified and the installation space is reduced. All charging communication takes place via PLC directly via the charging inlet. As everything is already coordinated and set up, the vehicle manufacturer no longer has to worry about implementing communication protocols. The combination of controller and charging inlet in one component facilitates integration into existing vehicle architectures and reduces the development effort for system integrators, as the system is perfectly coordinated.

Why integrate the controller in the charging inlet? What advantages does this offer?

The combination of vehicle charging inlet and charging controller in a single product offers decisive advantages for manufacturers and operators. Instead of installing separate components, the entire control logic is integrated directly into the charging socket. The integrated controller handles all PLC communication with the EV charging station directly via the charging inlet. Vehicle manufacturers do not need to implement their own communication interfaces, as all protocols are already integrated into the system. The compact design reduces material and assembly costs, while the susceptibility to faults in the overall system is reduced.

As the charging inlet and controller come from a single source, the complexity of purchasing and coordination is reduced. Fewer suppliers mean fewer interfaces, less risk, and faster certification. The result: a robust, space-saving, and cost-efficient solution with maximum charging power and reliability.

Pluggable AC and DC cables with three outlet directions – CHARX connect advanced

Modular, tool-free connection system For easy maintenance and maximum flexibility

CHARX connect advanced offers a modular AC and DC connection system with a choice of different cross-sections and different cable outlet directions. Because the cable connectors can be disconnected from the charging inlet easily, the charging inlet can be replaced without additional tools whenever servicing is required. This makes maintenance a great deal easier.

You can choose between the CCS type 1 and CCS type 2 charging standards, both of which comply with international standards for fast charging stations for electric vehicles.

CHARX connect advanced modular principle – Step 2

The charging inlet is available as an option with an integrated controller or without a controller – for maximum flexibility in the system architecture. Please note: The sample is only available with an integrated controller.

CHARX connect advanced modular principle – Step 3

Define the optimum cable routing: straight to the rear, 90° to the left or 90° to the right. The cables are available in standard lengths of 2 m and 5 m. Customized lengths are also available to precisely match the installation situation. The samples are available with a cable length of 5 m.
