Information on data protection of the TC Mobile IO App
Use of personal data
Data transmitted when using this app are processed and stored by Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG and its affiliated companies (hereinafter jointly referred to as “Phoenix Contact”). These data will be used exclusively for handling the service.
To display the status messages of the registered TC MOBILE I/O X200 devices in this app, an encrypted connection is established to a web server at Phoenix Contact. For security and technical reasons we automatically process information on our systems which your mobile phone or the TC MOBILE I/O X200 transmits to us. These are essentially:
IP address of your mobile phone
Serial number of the TC MOBILE I/O X200 device used
Data visualized in the app about statuses and switching operations.
We will not log or merge these data with other data sources or make statistical evaluations based on these data.
Furthermore, your mobile phone transmits the phone number of your mobile phone as
standard when sending SMS messages to the connected TC MOBILE I/O X200 device. The phone number is used exclusively to check the access authorization within the TC MOBILE I/O X200 device and is not transmitted to Phoenix Contact.

The purposes of the processing for which the personal data are intended:
The personal data collected in the app are solely intended for the purpose of providing communication of the mobile device with the TC MOBILE I/O.
Legal basis for the processing:
Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR
Necessary to use the app functions.
Art 6(1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest)
to log the accesses in the participating web servers.
Pursued legitimate interests of the processing (of the Controller or a third party):
The processing of system log data serves IT security and error analysis.
Categories of personal data that are processed:
When installing and opening the app, no data are exchanged or stored on our systems.
When communicating through the app (adding a device, switching outputs, updating or automatic status update from a device):
- IP address of the accessing smartphone/tablet and time stamp of access when requesting data from the communication server
Additional safety note:
The telephone number of the TC MOBILE I/O device in the field is never transmitted to our servers. It is only stored locally in the app and transferred to the native SMS app to send SMS commands.
In addition, the TC MOBILE I/O device only uses the telephone number of the smartphone/tablet to check the access authorization of a smartphone using the local contact list on the TC MOBILE I/O device and does not transfer these data to Phoenix Contact.

The stored data are transmitted exclusively to Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG. The data will not be disclosed to third parties.
Transfer of data to a third country or an international organization and the
associated safeguards to protect the data:
It is not intended to transmit the data to third countries.
Storage duration of the data:
When using the app:
- The collected data are stored as long as the device actively communicates with the server and corresponding information is required to execute the service
- If there is no communication for a period of 12 months, the device will be considered inactive and all related data will be automatically deleted from our systems.
- The general access data (IP address and time stamp) on our servers will be retained for a period of 7 days.

If the respective legal requirements are met, you are entitled to
the following rights: Right to have access to your data that we
store; rectification, erasure, restriction of processing your data

If you are of the opinion that the processing of your personal data is unlawful, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority.
Legal or contractual necessity to provide the data, as well as any consequences of failure to provide the data:
The processed data are required for communication between the app and the TC MOBILE I/O X200. Without this information, it is not possible to use the app. Furthermore, without this information, no access control to the device data can be ensured.
Automated decision-making / Profiling:
There will be no automated decision-making or profiling based on your collected data.
App analysis
No tracking tools are used in this app and no other analysis data are collected.
Supplementary information regarding the use and circulation of personal data
Phoenix Contact may be forced to disclose your data and corresponding details by order of judicial or regulatory action. We also reserve the right to use your data to assert a claim or defend against legal claims. In compliance with applicable law, we reserve the right to save and pass on personal data and any other data in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, and violations of Phoenix Contact’s terms and conditions of use.
Updates of this information on data protection
If Phoenix Contact changes this app or if the Internet and electronic data processing security technology is further developed, this will be updated in the data protection statement. We therefore reserve the right to alter or modify this statement as required. The current version will be published here.
