Privacy notice for the use of the CHARX control modular App

We appreciate your interest in this app and want you to feel secure with regard to the protection of your personal data.

Our employees, as well as the service providers we engage, are bound by confidentiality and by compliance with the provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), and other applicable data protection regulations.

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously and strictly adhere to the applicable data protection laws.

For clarification: “Personal data” refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (data subject), such as name, address, contact details, user ID, IP address, photo or video recordings, location data, pseudonyms, IMEI numbers, etc.

The following information provides an overview of how we ensure this protection.

General principles on the use and disclosure of personal data

Data collected and possibly transferred when using this app is processed and stored by Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG and its affiliated companies (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Phoenix Contact”).

This data is used exclusively for providing the services offered within the app.
Where necessary, information may also be shared with service providers or other third parties. This may be required to ensure proper functioning of the app or to deliver a service or transaction you request. When transferring personal data to third parties, we limit ourselves to the information required for providing the respective service. The respective third party may use this personal data solely for delivering the requested service or performing the necessary transaction on our behalf. Service providers are contractually bound by us to comply with data protection laws, typically through a data processing agreement.

We never pass on, sell, or otherwise provide personal data we have collected to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Processing of personal data by specific CHARX control modular App functions

When using the CHARX control modular App, only the information necessary for technical operation is processed.

The app connects to the local network of your device and scans it exclusively for CHARX control modular devices. Other devices on the network are neither detected nor processed.

When establishing a connection to a selected CHARX control modular device, an encrypted HTTPS connection is set up through manual password entry. The app does not store any login credentials; authentication is performed only for the duration of the active session.

After a successful connection, your device transfers configuration data to the selected CHARX control modular device via a secure and encrypted connection. Likewise, configuration parameters can be written from the app to the device.

All processing takes place solely on your device and/or on the selected CHARX control modular device. No personal data is transmitted to Phoenix Contact or third parties.

Validation of an entered backend URL is performed solely by the connected CHARX control modular device. The app does not transmit any personal data to the backend server and does not establish network connections to that server itself.

The app does not collect, process, or store any personal data. There is no merging with other data sources, and no statistical analysis takes place. All connection and configuration processes serve only technical operation and device management within the local network. No tracking occurs during app use.

Contact information

Within the app, we provide contact information (e.g., email address and telephone number).

When you tap this information, your device opens the locally configured email application or the phone function.

In doing so, no personal data is transmitted or processed by the app or Phoenix Contact.
Any processing takes place solely within the applications on your device.

Updating this privacy notice

If Phoenix Contact modifies this app, or if legal requirements or internet and IT security technologies evolve, this privacy notice will be updated accordingly. We therefore reserve the right to modify or supplement these notes as needed.

The current version will always be published at this location.
