RailFIX mounting adapter below a DIN rail

RailFIX

Efficient mounting of DIN rails

RailFIX simplifies the mounting of assembled DIN rails. As a part of this, the adapters are first screwed onto the mounting panel. The terminal strip is then pushed onto the mounting hooks, levered into the mounting position, and secured with a mounting screw. Once that’s done, the DIN rail is firmly anchored to the mounting panel.

Main features

  • Compatible with DIN rails with standard 15 mm x 6.2 mm perforations
  • Suitable for NS 35/7,5 and NS 35/15 steel DIN rails from Phoenix Contact
  • High stability due to zinc die-cast components
  • Vibration-resistant connection for transport of the control cabinet
  • Good transmission of shield currents due to low contact resistance

Your Advantages

  • Increased efficiency in the overall control cabinet mounting process
  • Quick and easy mounting of fully assembled terminal strips
  • Individual DIN rail components do not have to be removed
  • No retrofitting of bridges or marking material required
  • Mounting slots enable mounting using a standard screwdriver

DIN rail NS 35

These DIN rails with a top-hat profile are the most common versions and are also DIN-standardized. They are available in two sizes, NS 15 and NS 35. In addition, the NS 35 DIN rail is also available in two heights, of 7.5 mm and 15 mm. Depending on the DIN rail version, the top-hat rails are available in different materials. These include, for example, uncoated and galvanized steel, as well as copper and aluminum DIN rails. Furthermore, all versions, whether NS 15 or NS 35, are available with or without perforations. The elongated holes allow easy mounting of the assembled DIN rails. The standard elongated holes on the NS 15 DIN rails have a hole spacing of 20 mm from hole center to hole center. The elongated hole itself, including radii, is 12.2 mm long
and 4.2 mm wide. The standard elongated holes on the NS 35 DIN rails have a hole spacing of 25 mm from hole center to hole center. The elongated hole itself, including radii, is 15 mm long and 6.2 mm wide.

DIN rail with G-profile

The G-profile DIN rails are only available in the NS 32 size. The DIN rails are available in perforated or unperforated versions, but you can only choose different materials for the unperforated version. The unperforated version is also available in uncoated copper.

DIN rail with C profile

DIN rails with C profile are used only rarely today. For this reason, the DIN rail portfolio only includes one version. This version is an NS 30 DIN rail made of galvanized steel with elongated holes.

PPS STANDARD M DIN rail cutter with various DIN rails

You can use the DIN rail cutters to cut DIN rails precisely, without chips, and without the need for post-processing. The guide elements ensure that the DIN rails can be inserted into the cutter quickly and effortlessly.

RailFIX DIN rail adapters

The RailFIX DIN rail adapters make it to mount fully assembled terminal strips easily and efficiently. There is no need to leave a gap between the terminal blocks during assembly for affixing the terminal strips. In addition to space-saving mounting, this also ensures fast mounting, as there is no need for the time-consuming retrofitting of individual terminal blocks or accessories. In addition, only a single screw is required at the DIN rail end to attach a fully assembled DIN rail.

Detailed information
Mounting a DIN rail with the RailFIX mounting adapters

To prepare for terminal strip mounting, the RailFIX adapters must first be attached to the mounting panel. The DIN rail is then threaded onto the locking clip manually and pushed under the fixing hooks. With a standard screwdriver, the DIN rail is then leveraged under the adapters up to the marking. All that is left to do is to secure the DIN rail in place with an M5 cylinder head screw to prevent lateral movements.

Mounting and fastening terminal strips can be tedious and time-consuming. However, the RailFIX adapters make this process much more efficient. The real advantage of the RailFIX mounting adapters lies not only in the speed of mounting, but above all the simplification of the terminal strip design. With RailFIX, this can be done in parallel with adapter mounting, which decentralizes the entire process and minimizes long travel distances and waiting times. In addition, fully mounted DIN rails can also be purchased conveniently from third-party providers.

End brackets for snap-in mounting

End brackets for snap-in mounting

End brackets

The end bracket portfolio consists of various end brackets for DIN, C-type, and G-type DIN rails. For the widely used DIN rails, snap-on end brackets are available in addition to screw-on end brackets. These end brackets can be snapped onto the DIN rail without using tools and without the need for further fixing measures. When snapped on, the end brackets cut into the metal of the DIN rail, resulting in a particularly tight fit. In addition, the snap-on end brackets are maintenance-free. Just like with the screw-on end brackets, these end brackets can only be loosened with a screwdriver. This prevents unintentional loosening.

Neutral busbars

Neutral busbars

Neutral busbars and support brackets

For easy installation of neutral conductors, the portfolio has three different types of neutral busbars. The dimensions 6 x 6 mm and 3 x 10 mm are represented here. Various support brackets are available for installing the neutral busbars. The largest selection here is for the 3 x 10 mm versions. Here, you can choose between adapters for fixing on the DIN rail or for direct mounting. The DIN-rail-mounted neutral busbar adapters are available in various designs. This allows the distance between the neutral busbar and the DIN rail and the height of the rail to be controlled.
