Surge protection for North American power supply systems
Power supply systems in accordance with North American standards differ significantly from those in accordance with IEC standards. Apart from the supply system configurations and voltages, the technical and normative requirements also differ. Surge protective devices in accordance with IEC do not comply with these requirements. For this reason, specific SPDs are available for North American supply systems. These comply with the North American standards in accordance with UL and CSA.

National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
Surge protection is mandatory in the USA for safety operating data systems and critical operating data systems. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 79: Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery, a supplementary document of the National Electrical Code (NEC), describes requirements for the protection of operators, equipment, equipment, and ongoing operations. In order to meet these requirements, UL-listed surge protection has been stipulated since the 2018 edition of NFPA 79. Using the VAL-US-SPP ensures that you meet these requirements and are on the safe side.
