Current transformers for new installations

Our PACT current transformers for new installations offer a complete portfolio for converting alternating currents up to 4,000 A AC. PACT current transformers are available as bus-bar, window-type, and winding current transformers with a range of different transformation ratios, accuracy classes, and rated powers suitable for your current measurement tasks.

Your advantages

  • Proven screw-connection technology, quickly accessible with the simple 90° rotation of the captive terminal cover
  • Variable mounting with flexible fastening options
  • Measure peak loads reliably with a thermal nominal continuous current of 120% of the primary rated current
  • Increased electrical safety with high rated insulation voltages up to 1,000 V (L-N)
  • Space-saving design with consistently narrow housing widths of 30 mm

Quick and safe wiring

The proven screw-connection technology ensures that electrical conductors are connected safely. All four terminal points become quickly accessible with just a 90° rotation of the housing cover. The cover, that can be rotated and that is secured in the housing, brings you two advantages: on the one hand, it cannot be lost, and secondly, by turning it back to its original position you immediately receive visual confirmation that it is safe to touch.

Variable mounting options

PACT current transformers come with various mounting options, depending on your requirements:

  • Typical installation directly onto the busbar with the included accessories
  • Screw connection on a mounting panel via the plug-on feet included
  • Mounting on DIN rails with snap-in adapters available as an option

Safe detection of current peaks Permanent protection against damage

PACT current transformers enable you to measure larger current peaks safely without the risk of damage. This is because the current transformers are designed for a continuous nominal current that is 120% of the primary rated current strength. This means that for a rated current that is 1.2 times greater, a PACT current transformer with a specified rated power of 10 VA actually delivers 14.4 VA – and on a continual basis.

Increased electrical safety

The housing walls of PACT MCR current transformers have a 14 mm overlap, thus offering better electrical safety than required by the standard. These overlaps significantly increase the air clearances and creepage distances and thereby prevent electrical sparkovers from the primary to the secondary side.
The rated insulation voltage of conventional 720 V transformers is just 416 V (L-N). PACT MCR current transformers enable a maximum rated insulation voltage of up to 1000 V (L-N).
