The mobility revolution presents new challenges for both automobile manufacturers and the utility vehicle, passenger transport, and transportation industry. Seemingly long charging times threaten to undermine streamlined logistics and suitability for everyday use.
With our CHARX connect universal CCS charging inlets for universal use, we offer a High Power Charging interface that significantly reduces charging times for all electric vehicles. In addition to AC charging inlets and DC charging inlets for the GB/T standard, we have a comprehensive portfolio for all regions and applications.
“Above all, the vehicles of tomorrow will have their own battery and charging technology. High power and high range will be in demand. That requires large batteries and short charging cycles in turn. That is why we see ourselves as empowering the coming differentiation in vehicle development – and are already researching charging technologies that provide significantly more energy than our HPC products today, for example for particularly large utility vehicles.”

Our CHARX connect universal vehicle charging inlets are waterproof and dustproof. With the use of an optimized sealing system, the charging inlets achieve a comprehensive degree of protection of up to IP67, and, in addition, IP6K6K/IP6K9K in the front area. The charging inlet is protected against moisture and dirt, even when the charging flap is open and the charging connector is not plugged in.
Our CHARX connect universal CCS charging inlets enable the vehicle-side use of High Power Charging (HPC) technology for the fast charging of electric vehicles of all types.
With cable cross-sections of up to 95 mm², you can continuously charge electric vehicles with our CCS charging inlets with 250 kW. Depending on other conditions such as the ambient temperature, the way the cables are laid in the vehicle, or the application-specific charging profile, you can even charge short-term at higher charging powers of up to 500 kW.
PTC chain on the AC contacts (charging with up to 80 A) The PTC sensor system in the AC area consists of a chain of resistors, each of which is located at one contact. By detecting the respective resistance values, safe shutdown is enabled if the limit temperature is exceeded.
Pt 1000 sensors at the DC contacts (charging with up to 500 A) In the DC area, charging is conducted with higher currents, therefore a precise temperature measurement is required. A Pt 1000 sensor is located at both DC contacts, enabling the temperature to be measured very precisely. Based on the evaluated measurement data, the requested DC charging current can be controlled dynamically by the vehicle. Immediate shutdown is initiated from a limit temperature of 90°C at the contact.
The precise temperature sensor technology of our vehicle charging inlets ensures a high level of safety during the charging process. The optimized connection technology between the DC power contacts and high-voltage cables additionally minimizes heating of the system.
The relevant external dimensions and screw-connection geometries of the CHARX connect universal CCS charging inlets and AC charging inlets are identical to each other. This enables you to plan the same installation space for each electric vehicle regardless of the target market – from ships to motorbikes.
As a reliable partner, we satisfy the high quality demands of our customers in the automotive industry. We are now channeling this expertise into all other types of electric vehicles. Our new generation of vehicle charging inlets was designed for universal use, whether for buses, road sweepers, bulldozers, mining vehicles, transportation vehicles, or sporty snowmobiles.
Our CHARX connect universal CCS charging inlets comply with the relevant standards IEC 62196, SAE J1772, and GB/T 20234.
PHOENIX CONTACT E-Mobility is certified in accordance with IATF 16949.
