Feed-through, multi-level, and component terminal blocks

Use the feed-through terminal blocks and multi-level terminal blocks from Phoenix Contact for the space-saving connection of two or more conductors. The terminal blocks are characterized by their flexible bridgeability and optimum marking options. Together with the component terminal blocks, terminal blocks with LEDs, blocking diodes or resistors are also available.

Feed-through terminal blocks

Feed-through terminal blocks are characterized by two terminal points and a compact design. The large cross-section range of the feed-through terminal blocks allows universal use in every application. Along with the standard feed-through terminal blocks for wiring with, say, copper wires, Phoenix Contact also provides Al/Cu terminal blocks. The universal terminal blocks enable the connection of aluminum- and copper conductors in just one terminal.

You can implement even more compact wiring with the multi-conductor terminal blocks from Phoenix Contact. Multi-conductor terminal blocks are feed-through terminal blocks with three or four connections which are all routed via the same current bar. This allows you to connect up to four conductors with individual wiring per terminal. The design of the terminals means that fewer terminals and supply lines are required for wiring. Along with an improved overview, this also enables wiring or potential distribution in tight spaces.

The multi-level terminal blocks allow even higher wiring density compared to the multi-conductor terminal blocks. Multi-level terminal blocks are available with up to three levels. A single potential is routed through each level, meaning that each level acts as a feed-through terminal block. Moreover, each level has its own function shaft. The function shafts of most double-level terminal blocks are designed so that the two levels can be connected to each other via vertical bridging. This creates a multi-conductor terminal block on several levels. The CLIPLINE complete system includes special wire bridges for establishing this bridging. Along with simple versions, multi-level terminal blocks are also available with a PE connection. The PE connection level does not have a function shaft. The discharge potential leads directly to the busbar via the metallic PE foot.

You can use component terminal blocks in various applications. Safety requirements are also taken into account: Printed circuit diagrams and symbols reduce the risk of faulty wiring considerably. The various electromechanical components and electrical components of the terminal blocks have different uses. They are necessary for the following applications:

  • The terminal blocks with the LED component are used for visualizing operating states in a system.
  • Components such as blocking diodes are used to protect components against reverse currents or resistances.
  • Component terminal blocks with resistors are used for current and voltage limitation and distribution.
