More and more interfaces and switching devices have to be tested on a regular basis. Now the FAME plug-in test system is available to help you with this additional testing without any extra cost or time.

The plug-in test systems record complex switching process sequences in a functional manner. The systems provide reliably for your safety thanks to the automatic, leading transformer short circuit and integrated touch protection. The FAME plug-in test systems can be built modularly, which means that you can adapt the systems optimally to your application. In addition, the systems use the standardized CLIPLINE complete bridge accessories. Depending on the system, the automatic transformer short-circuit function can thus be ensured in the plug-in test socket or in the test plug.
The plug-in test sockets are designed to save space thanks to the offset test socket arrangement. In addition, all plug-in test systems have large-surface marking options.

The plug-in test systems use two different approaches in order to be able to perform various switching tasks in the correct forced switching sequence.
The FAME 2 system test plug has three different contact lengths, which allows you to carry out the switching sequence with a safe chronological disconnection with a plugging operation.
The FAME RACK plug-in test system, in contrast, allows the forced switching sequence to happen in the plug-in test socket, which means that the tests can be carried out with just a single plug, saving time. In order to implement the forced switching sequence in the plug-in test socket, the socket is comprised of single plates. When assembling the socket, you therefore can choose between different types of plates with different switching points. The S-plate, for example, has a late switching point and a short distance to the connecting contact. This means that this plate is switched last when plugging in with long delay. Alongside the S-plate, the system has M- and L-plates. M-plates have a delayed switching point, and the L-plates have an early switching point.
The FAME 1, 3 and FAME SL plug-in test systems combine the switching process sequences in different blocks, which means that a forced switching sequence is not necessary.

The FAME plug-in test systems can be short circuited quickly and easily in the event of a relay test or to replace a protective device. To do so, depending on the system, short circuit the current transformer with the standard plug-in bridges in the plug-in test socket or in the test plug. This results in an easily induced advanced signal separation.

The patented rotary handle mechanics for the plug-in test systems provide you with support in evenly pulling the test plug out of the test block. The forced locking and the short-term pause in the various switch positions associated with it allow the plug-in test system to have the highest degree of safety for both system and operator.
As soon as you have completely inserted the test plug, the plug will lock securely into the plug-in test socket. All test contacts are contacted in accordance with the test setup. You can unlatch the test plug by rotating the handle through 45° up to the stop. This allows you to pull the plug out up to the intermediate stage. The plug-in test system current transformer contacts are reconnected with the protective device. Only after springing the rotary handle back into the starting position will the plug become unlocked. Then you can pull the test plug out of the plug-in test system completely. The original signal connections are reestablished.

The test plug of the FAME 3 SL plug-in test system locks automatically into the plug-in test socket when it is plugged in. The test contacts are securely contacted in accordance with the test setup. After the test is over, you can release the locking by actuating the orange lever. Unplugging the test plug will restore the plug-in test system's original signal connections.

Mounting type for the plug-in test systems

The different plug-in test systems can be installed in different ways.
The FAME RACK plug-in test system is screwed into a 19-inch mounting frame using screws. Thanks to the modularity of the FAME 3 rack system, plug-in test sockets with two rack units and up to seven positions, three rack units with up to twelve positions, and four rack units with up to four positions can be replicated.
You also have the option to mount the FAME RACK plug-in test system directly in cutouts of front panels or control cabinet doors outside of the 19-inch format.
The FAME 3 SL plug-in test system, in contrast, was designed exclusively for panel cutouts. The system uses two push buttons, which allows the plug-in test system to be locked into an appropriate cutout quickly and easily.
The FAME 1, 2, and 3 systems are likewise installed in cutouts of front panels or control cabinet doors. In the process, the plug-in test sockets are wedged into the cutouts by means of a patented screw mechanism.

Safe cable routing for plug-in test sockets

For control and operating purposes, plug-in test system should usually be accessible from the outside and are therefore mounted in the door. This is why some devices and plug-in test sockets are mounted in the control cabinet door in protection and control engineering applications.
The swivel arm of the cable guiding system makes it particularly easy and safe to install your conductors, cables, and cable harnesses for the control cabinet door or swivel mounting frame. This solution saves time, as the patent-pending swivel joints can be opened and pre-assembled cables can be fed through or pulled through without using any tools.
