Modular contact inserts with function for heavy-duty connectors
With the new HEAVYCON HC-M-MWF contact insert modules for industrial connectors, Phoenix Contact offers a high degree of functionality for field cabling. The modular contact inserts have a function slot and a disconnect zone. This provides, for example, potential bridging or power protection directly in the application.
Decentral structures save space in the control cabinet and reduce cabling. The innovative contact insert modules make it possible to shift the functionality from the control cabinet to the field. The multifunctional disconnect zone and the double function slot are the central features of the 5-position contact inserts. The quick and individual potential distribution is made possible by plug-in bridges. The disconnect zone supports the flexible use of fuse plugs, component connectors, and isolating plugs. For example, power forwarding and string protection can be implemented easily. Push-in technology enables a secure and tool-free conductor connection of 0.14 to 2.5 mm². The modules are suitable for HEAVYCON module carrier frames and offer shock and vibration resistance in accordance with DIN EN 61373. By combining various transmission media in one heavy-duty connector, an individual interface is created and signals, data, and power are transmitted in a space-saving manner.
