Increase the flexibility of your processes with modular device couplers and redundant power supplies.
Expand your FOUNDATION Fieldbus system with our innovative device couplers. No matter whether you need flexible expansion with modular versions or maximum channel density with devices in a block design, we have the right fieldbus device coupler for every scenario.
Together with redundant fieldbus power supplies, surge protection, and installation material, Phoenix Contact offers a complete system architecture, which saves space in your control cabinet and reduces installation costs.
Reliably supply your FOUNDATION Fieldbus loops with redundant single- or four-channel power supplies. The devices can be plugged in, which means they can be replaced quickly and flexibly. Furthermore, the ACB Technology (Auto Current Balancing) ensures a considerably higher device service life and maximum reliability for your process application thanks to symmetrical loading of the power supplies.
The integrated diagnostics function and relay outputs ensure permanent monitoring.
Your advantages:
The modular FOUNDATION Fieldbus device coupler system consists of three main devices: the trunk line module, coupler modules, and, when required, a diagnostics module. The trunk line module forms a new fieldbus station. The module offers numerous shielding options and an integrated termination resistor.
The fieldbus device couplers with one or two outputs are short-circuit-proof, thereby protecting your network. The supply voltage for the modular system is sub-distributed via a connector which is simply snapped onto the DIN rail.
For Zone 2 installations, with connection of Zone 0, 1, and 2 instruments in the same housing, the FB-MODULAR partition plate is available for implementing intrinsically safe wiring clearances.
The field diagnostics module is available in two versions. One version works with the modular DIN rail connector and therefore saves on complex cabling. The other is fitted with connection terminal blocks via which device couplers from other manufacturers can be connected.
Integration in the control level is via standard H1 communication and device management using DD (Device Description), EDDL (Electronic Device Description Language), and DTM (Device Type Manager).
The multi-channel fieldbus device couplers are designed for ambient temperatures of -50°C to +90°C. They are highly compact and connection takes place on one side from below, in order to save even more space. This means you can use your space as effectively as possible and achieve maximum channel density in your distributor box.
The termination resistor is integrated into the device.
The fieldbus couplers have been registered by the Fieldbus Foundation.
The new fieldbus barriers are device couplers that are specially approved for Zone 1. They have been tested at ambient temperatures of -40°C to +80°C and are thus suitable for any process application.
The fieldbus couplers have been registered by the Fieldbus Foundation.
We provide you with a range of fieldbus distributor boxes specially for the use of field device couplers. Thanks to ATEX, IECEx, and UL Class I, Division 2 approvals, they can be used around the world.
The pre-mounted boxes come in two versions, with and without surge protection for the trunk line. They connect the trunk line to the field devices.
