Phoenix Contact field device couplers provide you with the option of extending your fieldbus in the field to suit your needs. We offer a portfolio containing special couplers for Profibus PA and FOUNDATION Fieldbus. No matter whether you need flexible expansion with modular versions or maximum channel density with devices in a block design, we have the right field device coupler for every scenario.
The modular field device couplers for FOUNDATION Fieldbus consist of three main devices. The trunk line module, coupling modules and, when required, a diagnostics module. The trunk line module forms a new fieldbus station.
The fieldbus device couplers in versions with one or two outputs are short-circuit-proof, thereby protecting your network. The supply voltage for the modular system is sub-distributed via a DIN rail connector which is simply snapped onto the DIN rail.
The field diagnostics module is available in two versions. One version works with the modular DIN rail connector and therefore eliminates the need for complex cabling. The other is fitted with connection terminal blocks that can be used to connect field device couplers from other manufacturers.
For Zone 2 installations, with connection of Zone 0, 1 and 2 instruments in the same housing, the FB-MODULAR partition plate is available for implementing intrinsically safe wiring clearances.
Integration in the control level is carried out via standard H1 communication and device management using DD (Device Description), EDDL (Electronic Device Description Language), and DTM (Device Type Manager).
The multi-channel field device couplers for PROFIBUS PA and FOUNDATION Fieldbus are designed for ambient temperatures of -50 °C to +90 °C.
They are highly compact and connection takes place on one side from below in order to save even more space. This means you can use your space as effectively as possible and achieve maximum channel density in your distributor box.
The field device couplers have been registered by the Fieldbus Foundation.
The multi-channel field device couplers for PROFIBUS PA and FOUNDATION Fieldbus are also called "fieldbus barriers" due to their Ex zone 1 approval.
They have been tested for ambient temperatures of -40 °C to +80 °C and are thus suitable for any process application. They are lightweight, robust, easy to install and save space. Connection takes place on one side from below in order to save even more space.
Intelligent circuits minimize contact bounce for high signal quality.
The field device couplers have been registered by the Fieldbus Foundation.
We provide you with a range of fieldbus distributor boxes specially for the use of field device couplers. Thanks to ATEX, IECEx, and UL Class I, Division 2 approvals, they can be used with confidence around the world.
The pre-mounted boxes come in two versions, with and without surge protection for the trunk line. They connect the trunk line to the field devices.
