Intelligent 2000 and 2100 switches

Two intelligent 2000 switches

Simple Unmanaged Switch or powerful Managed Switch? The intelligent 2000 switch (Fast Ethernet Switch) and 2100 switch (Gigabit switch) combine the best of both worlds. They are as easy to operate as an Unmanaged Switch, and yet the provide the functions of a Managed Switch, thus improving the stability and robustness of your machine network.

Unmanaged mode

In the unique unmanaged mode, the 2000/2100 switch behaves like an Unmanaged Switch. This means that you do not have to configure it, and it does not have an IP address. In contrast to a classic Unmanaged Switch, however, it nevertheless strengthens the machine network, because redundancy mechanisms and filter functions are active in the background. The switch therefore provides you with the network stability of a Managed Switch, without configuration outlay.

Versions for particularly flat control cabinets

FL SWITCH 2008F switch with a flat design

The flat 2008F switch fits into every control cabinet

If you prefer to use flat and space-saving control cabinets on or in your machine, the classic design of switches may not be an option because of their depth. The 2000F series switches are the ideal choice for these applications. They fit into every control cabinet because of their particularly flat design with a depth of just 37 mm above the DIN rail. You can therefore use these flat switches to network your Ethernet components in a very tight space.

Multicast filter

Data forwarding with and without IGMP snooping

The intelligent 2000 and 2100 switches only forward multicasts to relevant network devices

With the help of IGMP snooping, the intelligent 2000 and 2100 Ethernet Switches only forward multicasts to the network devices that actually need the information they contain. They therefore help reduce the data load and improve the stability of the network.

Redundancy for failsafe networks

RSTP topology

RSTP uses just one communication path between switches, and switches to other paths in the event of an error

If you are looking for a particularly failsafe network, redundancy mechanisms are essential. The intelligent 2000 and 2100 switches support both the Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) and the Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP) as a client.

If communication within the network is interrupted due to a device failure or a faulty cable, both redundancy protocols ensure that the communication paths are switched over. They therefore maintain communication within the network, ensuring that there are no downtimes.

Flexible configuration options

Various FL SWITCH 2000/2100 configuration options

The FL SWITCH 2000/2100 devices can be configured via SD card, smart mode, CLI, SNMP and web interface

Apart from unmanaged mode, there are various configuration options for the intelligent 2000/2100 switches.

Use an SD card to quickly and easily upload configuration files to several switches. This means that if a device is replaced, the replacement no longer needs to be configured. As an alternative, the web interface of the switches provide you with a clear overview of the configuration. Configuration via smart mode, SNMP or Command Line Interface (CLI), on the other hand, is particularly fast.
