Modular workstation systems for efficient processes in control cabinet building
Integrated Energy Solutions: cost-effective decarbonization of companies
A short study commissioned by the German Corporate Initiative for Energy Efficiency (Deneff) at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences found that German companies can save up to €21 billion in energy costs annually by implementing targeted measures. According to Deneff board member Christian Noll, just as much energy is consumed for industrial heat applications as for building heat – and most of it is still generated by fossil fuels. At the same time, the CSRD Directive (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) is making significant changes to the requirements on corporate sustainability reporting.
Phoenix Contact at the Hannover Messe: Digital Factory, efficient control cabinet building, and DC technology in focus
In tune with the trade fair motto “Shaping the Future with Technology”, Phoenix Contact will be showcasing its products and solutions for the challenges of the future at the Hannover Messe from March 31 to April 4: This year, the family-run company will be focusing on three topic areas on booth F40 in Hall 9: DC technology, efficiency in control cabinet building, and Digital Factory.
Sustainability: Phoenix Contact maintains gold status
Phoenix Contact is among the top five percent of companies awarded gold medal status for their sustainability performance by the independent analysts at Ecovadis. The company from Ostwestfalen-Lippe, Germany, was thus able to maintain its gold status for another year. Around the same time, Phoenix Contact published its new sustainability report – which is available as a climate-friendly download online.
Gray is the new color: Phoenix Contact moves over to unprinted packaging
Phoenix Contact is changing its item packaging over to unprinted folding cartons, both nationally and internationally. The packaging can therefore be reused – in the spirit of a sustainable circular economy.
Frank Stührenberg to hand over the role of Chief Executive Officer of Phoenix Contact to Dirk Görlitzer
Frank Stührenberg, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Phoenix Contact, will retire at the end of December 2024 after 33 years with the company. He will be succeeded by Dirk Görlitzer, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer (COO) since 2020. To ensure a smooth transition, Frank Stührenberg and Dirk Görlitzer will share the role of Chief Executive Officer from July 1. Frank Stührenberg will remain associated with the Phoenix Contact Group in the future as chairman of the supervisory board of the newly founded company Phoenix Contact E-Mobility Holding SE.
Solutions for a sustainable process industry at ACHEMA 2024
The process industry is facing various challenges – including the need for higher efficiency and flexibility in modularization, cost reductions in processes, and the use of sustainable resources for system operations. During a press conference at the SPS automation trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany, Ulrich Leidecker, Chief Operating Officer of Phoenix Contact, spoke about the company’s economic development, which, after two years of above-average growth, has been characterized by a significant decline in incoming orders since the second quarter of 2023. It is currently forecast that Phoenix Contact will close the 2023 fiscal year with a fall in revenue of around two percent compared to the previous year and a total revenue of three-and-a-half billion euros.
