The clipx Basic line workstation systems from Phoenix Contact make it easy to configure individual workstations for efficient and ergonomic working. The modular system allows the workstations to be flexibly adapted or extended, for example, with the clipx Engineer assemble worker assistance software for terminal strip mounting.
A short study commissioned by the German Corporate Initiative for Energy Efficiency (Deneff) at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences found that German companies can save up to €21 billion in energy costs annually by implementing targeted measures. According to Deneff board member Christian Noll, just as much energy is consumed for industrial heat applications as for building heat – and most of it is still generated by fossil fuels. At the same time, the CSRD Directive (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) is making significant changes to the requirements on corporate sustainability reporting.

The company from Ostwestfalen-Lippe, Germany, was thus able to maintain its gold status for another year. Around the same time, Phoenix Contact published its new sustainability report – which is available as a climate-friendly download online.
Phoenix Contact is changing its item packaging over to unprinted folding cartons, both nationally and internationally. The packaging can therefore be reused – in the spirit of a sustainable circular economy.
Frank Stührenberg, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Phoenix Contact, will retire at the end of December 2024 after 33 years with the company. He will be succeeded by Dirk Görlitzer, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer (COO) since 2020. To ensure a smooth transition, Frank Stührenberg and Dirk Görlitzer will share the role of Chief Executive Officer from July 1. Frank Stührenberg will remain associated with the Phoenix Contact Group in the future as chairman of the supervisory board of the newly founded company Phoenix Contact E-Mobility Holding SE.
The process industry is facing various challenges – including the need for higher efficiency and flexibility in modularization, cost reductions in processes, and the use of sustainable resources for system operations. Based on the development of technology standards and modularization approaches, Phoenix Contact will be presenting suitable solutions with regard to energy efficiency and carbon reductions at the ACHEMA trade fair in Hall 11.1, Booth A31.
Extending the useful life of proven machines and their networking can generate data transparency and lead to higher efficiency. The Phoenix Contact 2024 roadshow series features free presentations by experts at 10 different locations in Germany, providing valuable insights and inspiration for in-house production.
Phoenix Contact is planning a new building for electronic and electromechanical production in Mexico to meet the growth potential of the North American market. To this end, Phoenix Contact Production S.A. de C.V. was founded back in February.
The project consortium it’s OWL, in which Phoenix Contact worked together with the Fraunhofer Institute and other companies, successfully completed the joint research project on the automation of hazard and risk assessments.
To further optimize logistics processes, Phoenix Contact is introducing new product labels that simplify automated goods receipt and goods issue for its customers.
During a press conference at the SPS automation trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany, Ulrich Leidecker, Chief Operating Officer of Phoenix Contact, spoke about the company’s economic development, which, after two years of above-average growth, has been characterized by a significant decline in incoming orders since the second quarter of 2023. It is currently forecast that Phoenix Contact will close the 2023 fiscal year with a fall in revenue of around two percent compared to the previous year and a total revenue of three-and-a-half billion euros.
A new entrance has been built on an area of around 7,600 m² along the access road to Phoenix Contact’s Blomberg site.
