Application

Commissioning is an integral part of the construction phase of rail vehicles. During this time, the vehicle is put through its paces before the train is delivered and put into service. Normative requirements, such as EN 50215 and EN 50343, and any additional customer requirements call for a rigorous testing program. The actual test phase always involves electrical tests where the negative potential of individual devices must be disconnected in some cases.

Compact function blocks with disconnect function for straightforward electrical testing of rail vehicles

Disconnect terminal blocks are particularly useful for this task. They allow a path to be disconnected for testing and measurement purposes or during troubleshooting, without having to disconnect the connected conductor. PTFIX function blocks provide an even more compact solution for this task. The negative pole from the power supply is applied to the feed-in contact. The interconnected outlets can be disconnected and connected individually.
