Radioline multipoint multiplexers Quick and easy commissioning of a complete I/O system – without any programming
With the Radioline I/O modules, the Radioline RS-485 bus coupler provides you with a multiplexer system specifically for process use. The special feature: easy I/O mapping using the thumbwheel and multipoint operation over any 2-wire cables or alternative media.
Your advantages
- New options for I/O distribution with up to 99 stations in the bus system with multipoint multiplexer operation
- Extension of the Radioline wireless system with a wired line structure
- Can be used on any controller as a Modbus/RTU server
- Bridge large distances using existing 2-wire copper cables or a wireless connection
- Use in zone 2 potentially explosive areas
Quick and easy commissioning of I/O systems
I/O mapping
Use the thumbwheel to assign the I/O modules within a network to one another. All you need to do is set the I/O modules that need to communicate with one another to the same number. For example, set a digital input to IO MAP address 12 and then also set the assigned digital output to IO MAP address 12 – the signals will then be distributed correctly throughout the entire system.
Typical areas of application
Water treatment plants, remote pumping station connection, remote well connection, rotating parts, (such as a scraper bridge), fill-level monitoring
Energy technology: wind farms, surface mining, power station infrastructure, transformer stations, hydroelectric stations; conveying technology: monitoring of motors and conveyor belts, malfunction messages
Urban infrastructure: signaling systems, street lighting, parking lot lighting, parking direction systems; construction activities: road construction, mobile traffic signal systems.
One device – a wide range of applications
Distribution of I/O signals via existing 2-wire cables
Multipoint multiplexers
Distribute I/O signals in an RS-485 network with up to 99 Radioline stations over existing 2-wire cables. I/O mapping significantly simplifies signal distribution in large systems.
Assign inputs and outputs quickly by simply turning the thumbwheel. In this way, you can distribute and multiply I/O signals freely in your network using I/O extension modules. Without the need for programming.
Wireless and wired stations form a combined system.
Intermedia communication
A Radioline wireless system on an existing client can be expanded to include new RS-485 stations. The wireless and RS-485 modules form a combined system with up to 99 Radioline stations. I/O mapping significantly simplifies intermedia signal distribution in large systems.

Operates on any Modbus/RTU client
Stand-alone as a remote station
Operates on any Modbus/RTU client. Supports modular expansion with up to 32 I/O modules per RS-485 station.
Extend the range by up to 20 km via existing 2-wire cables with SHDSL extenders
Alternative transmission media
To increase the range, you can of course replace the RS-485 line with alternative transmission media. A wide range of converters is available for fiber-optic cables, SHDSL, wireless, and Ethernet technology.
Possible applications with the Radioline system
* All serial protocols are supported
