PCB production technologies

Current carrying capacity of up to 125 A? This can be achieved using high-current PCBs and the components in the COMBICON product range.
There are various technologies for creating high-current PCBs (see figure):

1. Multi-layer technology
2. Thick-copper technology
3. Wire-writing technology

These different technologies provide new options for device design:

  • The necessary functions and modules are placed on a single PCB.
  • Other assembly processes and expensive additional device wiring are eliminated.
  • Devices are getting smaller.

The current carrying capacity of the conductive paths on the PCB is decisive for the safety and performance of your device. In order to prevent thermal damage to device parts, the following factors should also be considered:

  • Ambient temperature
  • Number of positions
  • Connection cross section

Base curves and derating diagrams can be found in the product catalog so that the permitted current carrying capacity of COMBICON products can be determined. Please also refer to the laboratory data sheets of the corresponding products.
