Specially tailored to shipping requirements – shock-proof, splash-proof, and dimmable.
For demanding use on ships, Phoenix Contact offers robust operator and display panels. HMIs and industrial PCs for maritime applications are specially tested and approved for shipbuilding.
American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Bureau Veritas (BV), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Germanischer Lloyd (GL) and Lloyd's Register (LR) are the key ship certifiers across the world. Your ship certificates confirm that the owners of the ship have done everything to protect people and the environment against the dangers of seafaring. Furthermore, our maritime HMIs and industrial PCs meet the DIN EN 60945 standard for maritime navigation and wireless communication devices and systems.
Compass safe distance
Maritime HMIs and industrial PCs from Phoenix Contact are tested by the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency. They are certified in terms of the measurement of the protective distances from the standard magnetic and steering magnetic compass according to ISO R 694 and DIN EN 60945 Paragraph 11.2.
Black front plates, dimmable and acoustic warning signal
It must be possible to use the device's user interface in bright sunlight. The front plate made from black anodized aluminum absorbs light and prevents reflections.
For glare-free operation, the devices can be dimmed up to 100% using direct buttons on the black front. This ensures better visual perception, especially at night.
In critical situations, alarms are often signaled using a horn. This is the reason why an acoustic warning signal is integrated into our maritime devices.
Floating output
Additional connection options, e.g., an external signal generator are availablevia the floating output. This means you can connect the I/O directly without having to integrate the controller, I/O modules, and relays between the operator panel and signal generator. This reduces wiring effort and costs.
