Do you want to control your automation using familiar mechanisms? EtherNet/IP™ (Ethernet Industrial Protocol) is an open industrial fieldbus system. It is specified and maintained by the ODVA (Open DeviceNet™ Vendors Association). In addition, EtherNet/IP™ is standardized in the IEC 61158 series of international standards.
You can rely on an open and widely used fieldbus system: with EtherNet/IP™, the CIP (Common Industrial Protocol) is used via the conventional Ethernet network.

With a modular design
Our bus couplers for EtherNet/IP™ enable the operation of modular I/O stations in the control cabinet or in the field. With regard to the architecture, the fieldbus coupler is a slave in the EtherNet/IP™ network and the master in the local bus.

Our isolators are used for electrical isolation up to 4 kV in copper-based Ethernet networks. You can therefore protect your Ethernet devices and interfaces. This significantly increases immunity to interference under industrial conditions.
Our Industrial Ethernet Switches have multicast filters for optimum EtherNet/IP™ support. The Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) can be used to forward data packets to only those network devices that actually require them. This avoids unnecessary data traffic, minimizes the data load on the network, and ensures a high level of availability. For this purpose, the 7000 series Managed Switches support both IGMP snooping and the IGMP querier function.
Furthermore, the Device Level Ring (DLR) redundancy mechanism specified in EtherNet/IP™ is integrated into the switches. This lets you achieve superior system availability through nearly seamless switch-over in less than 3 ms in the event of supply systems failures and also connect multiple non-DLR-enabled devices to a DLR ring.
For easy configuration and diagnostics directly in the control system, the FL SWITCH 7000 series Managed Switches support the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP).
