Feed-in management Our innovative solutions help you to connect decentral power generation plants flexibly in accordance with the local requirements of the grid operator.
The challenge
The parameters at the grid connection point are recorded by measuring devices and transmitted to a central feed-in controller
Connecting decentral power generation plants to the grid
As a result of the energy transition, decentral power generation plants and battery storage systems must make a key contribution to ensuring grid stability.
The grid operators responsible specify the ranges to be maintained for grid frequency and voltage and for reactive power in their grid connection conditions for photovoltaic systems.
To control the system, controllers for power generation plants (PGPs) measure the voltage and frequency at the grid connection points. On this basis, the respective setpoints for the inverters are determined so that the active and reactive power can be controlled at the grid connection point.
Solution
Switchgear and controlgear assembly for feed-in control
Grid support with feed-in control Simple connection with a complete solution
Our solution partners will implement the connection of interfaces to the power provider and direct marketing company, and integrate any external devices such as inverters and energy measuring devices on a project-specific basis. With ready-to-install control cabinet solutions for feed-in control, all the necessary components such as the controller, network technology, and power supply, have already been combined in just one housing. As a result, your distributed power generation plant can make a contribution to grid stability.
Controller for feed-in control
Grid-compliant connection of your power generation plants Certification
Whether for a photovoltaic system, wind turbine generator, or biogas plant: power generation plants that feed into the German medium-, high-voltage or extra-high-voltage grid must include a certified control unit, the so-called PCU power control unit. A certificate must be issued by a certification authority accredited in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065. The certificate has to be adapted constantly to the latest directives.
Our Power Control Unit (PCU) is certified in accordance with VDE-AR-N 4110/20/30 for Germany. The PCU implements the active power and reactive power requirements as well as monitoring the voltage conditions at the grid connection point in accordance with regulations. For Spain, the PCU is certified in accordance with the Norma Técnica de Supervisión de la Conformidad de los Módulos de Generación de Electricidad. And for Poland, certification is in accordance with the ROZPORZĄDZENIE KOMISJI (UE) 2016/631 standard.
Reduced programming effort for feed-in control
Interface programs enable significantly reduced programming effort
The solution from Phoenix Contact consisting of hardware and software ensures that the engineering effort with respect to feed-in control is kept to a minimum. The functional scope of the software is being extended constantly. Ready-to-use interface programs are available for the PLCnext Engineer programming environment. They enable the quick and easy integration of grid operators, direct marketers, energy measuring devices, inverters, portals, and weather sensors. After configuring the application in PLCnext Engineer, the interfaces must be configured in the eHMI.
Your advantages
- Accelerated commissioning of your photovoltaic systems at the grid connection point
- Certification of our PCU power control unit for Germany, Poland, and Spain as well as compliance with the European grid connection conditions in accordance with the Network Code “Requirements for Generators” (NC RfG)
- Reliable system operation and straightforward grid connection through compliance with all technical connection requirements
- User-friendly with significantly reduced programming effort due to ready-to-use interface programs
