The challenge

Due to rapid expansion and urgent orders, ARKA Smart Parcel Lockers was faced with a major challenge: The wiring process was slow, manual, and error-prone. Electricians performed all the steps – cutting, stripping, crimping, and marking – manually. This took a lot of time and led to delivery delays. In addition, with no standardized wire identification in place, both mounting and on-site maintenance proved challenging.

The worker assistance system from Phoenix Contact has increased productivity significantly. One electrician now completes up to twelve lockers per shift instead of just eight, which was previously the case.

The solution

Together with Phoenix Contact, ARKA Smart Parcel Lockers implemented a software-supported modular solution. The worker assistance system was adapted to the specific requirements and consists of the CUTFOX 10 automatic cutting device, the CF 3000 automatic stripping and crimping device, a THERMOMARK E SERIES thermal transfer printer, and worker assistance software. The solution facilitates digital, efficient, and semi-automated wire preparation:
