Starting and Saving Projects
You have different ways to start a new project in cxE:
- Start your project from scratch by creating a new and empty project (from the start page or via the New backstage area)
- Open an existing project from the backstage area
- Use a template project or sample project from the backstage area
- Use Functional Engineering assistants to find the right solution template (from the start page or from the ribbon)
- Import data from an ECAD system
In cxE, several projects can be opened at the same time. You can easily open and create additional projects from the backstage view, each of which is opened in a separate browser tab.
Opening and Saving projects
This is a backstage feature.
You can open an existing project (.klp or .cxe file) either from a local storage or from the Proficloud via the Open... backstage area.
A project is saved as .cxe (default format) or .klp file via the Save or Save As... backstage area. With Save As... you can save the project to a local directory or server or save it to the Proficloud.
Note
Only projects that are stored in the Phoenix Contact cloud can easily and safely be shared with other users using the collaboration features in cxE. |
