Valve position monitoring

Valve position monitoring

Improved intervention options

Valve position information via wireless in real time in your control system.

Hand valves are used in large numbers in processing plants. Many existing systems have been operating successfully and effectively for years with hand valves. The monitoring of valve positions is playing an ever more important role in optimizing processing operations and in preventing incorrect operation.

Phoenix Contact provides you with a pre-assembled control box, which has special inputs for NAMUR sensors. The limit position switches of the hand valves are connected directly to these inputs. This provides you with an overview of the valve positions in the control room, and at the same time, ideal sensor diagnostics, including the cabling.

Your advantages

  • Increased system availability through the use of continuous valve position monitoring based on NAMUR sensors
  • Failure reduction by enabling immediate intervention
  • Convenient monitoring of manual system parts, directly from your control system
  • Reliable data transmission in real time via wired systems or wireless technology
  • Quick and easy installation, thanks to a pre-assembled ready-to-use control box

Collect data from the Ex area via intrinsically safe I/O system

The structure of a local substation (slave station) is comprised of the power supply, the wireless module, and the intrinsically safe input modules. The number of I/O modules is defined by the application. The system is modular and can be extended by the local bus.
