Special demands require special products: VAL-US offers the solution for NEMA systems
In North America and other regions of the world, power supply systems are operated with voltages and supply system configurations that can sometimes differ greatly from those of the IEC. The products in the VAL-US series are suitable for these supply system configurations. The VAL-US series covers a multitude of wiring configurations for split-phase, wye, high-leg delta, and corner-grounded delta systems, among others.
VAL-US represents the world's largest selection of UL “Open Type” Listed surge protective devices (SPDs). “Open Type”, also referred to as “Open Terminal”, refers to a category of surge protective devices newly introduced in UL 1449. This new category allows DIN-rail-mountable SPDs to obtain UL Listed approval. As the VAL-US series has UL Open Type 1 Listed approval, this makes acceptance testing of installations and systems much easier for inspectors.
The VAL-US product line includes pluggable surge protective devices for installations and systems in North America and Mexico. These items are also used in regions where NEMA-compliant supply system configurations are used. The intelligent design of these plugs features a window with a visual status indicator. This means you can identify overloaded plugs directly on site. A remote indication contact is available for remote maintenance. The base element and corresponding plug are coded to one another. This prevents incorrect replacement or tampering during maintenance work. The VAL-US series consists of numerous circuit configurations, both for standard systems such as 120/240 V split-phase and 277/480 V wye, and also for special supply system configurations such as 120/208/240 V high-leg delta and corner-grounded delta.
The products in the VAL-US family are UL Listed, making them ideal for use in the American market. Allow our product manager to explain the advantages of this product family.
