CHARX control vehicle handles high-level communication (TCP/IP) via Powerline (PLC) between the DC charging station and the electric vehicle

The independent vehicle charging controller CHARX control vehicle from Phoenix Contact enables DC charging via CCS charging inlets for electric vehicles and utility vehicles.

The controller handles high-level communication (TCP/IP) via Powerline (PLC) on CAN in accordance with DIN 70121 and ISO 15118 between the DC charging station and the electric vehicle. It controls the DC charging process, the locking actuator, the optional LED status indicator, the start/stop function, and the HV contactors, and also evaluates the temperature sensors.

The vehicle charging controller can be set up quickly courtesy of the pre-parameterization for the CHARX connect universal CCS vehicle charging inlet. CHARX control vehicle is also V2G-capable for bidirectional charging in accordance with ISO 15118-20 and can be used universally for all types of electric vehicles with a CCS charging inlet. The controller has E1 approval for road vehicles and is prepared for compliance with both UN R155 and UN R156 regulations in the overall cybersecurity concept of the vehicle. In addition, the vehicle charging controller meets the high safety standards of the automotive sector.
