The 4000 series managed PoE switches enable you to make user-defined PoE settings. The PoE function can be activated or deactivated for each port separately, for example. In addition, PoE prioritization is available and you can set maximum power budgets. This ensures that in the event of any problems with the power supply of the switch, very important devices continue to be supplied with PoE.
PoE switches Our PoE switches enable the simultaneous transmission of data and power via a single Ethernet cable. This is ideal for an efficient and space-saving network infrastructure. You have the choice between simple plug-and-play solutions and high-performance, configurable devices. Our unmanaged and managed PoE switches offer the right solution for every requirement.
Unmanaged PoE switches
The 1000 series unmanaged switches are suitable for applications with high data throughput, such as PoE cameras
High performance and high data throughput of PoE switches
The Gigabit unmanaged switches are ideal for supplying devices with high data throughput – such as high-resolution cameras. The devices also support jumbo frames, which increases efficiency in networks with high data volumes.
Depending on the requirements, the 1000 and 1100 series PoE switches meet the following standards:
- IEEE 802.3 af/at/bt (4PPoE+) for supplying attached devices with up to 240 W at 50 to 57 V DC
- IEEE 802.3 af/at for supplying attached devices with up to 120 W at 18 to 57 V DC
Stable connections
With Quality of Service (QoS) prioritized messages, the PoE switches provide high transmission quality as well as particularly stable and reliable connections. This results in error-free and interference-free transmission.
The FL SWITCH 1701-7POE is optimized for vision applications
Optimized for industrial image processing
Control-cabinet-free image processing applications in production save space and simplify integration into existing system concepts. To this end, several cameras and associated LED lighting systems are connected directly to the Gigabit Ethernet network in the field.
The FL SWITCH 1701-7POE unmanaged IP67 switch enables the decentralized connection of cameras and field devices via Power over Ethernet (PoE) and is optimized for industrial image processing applications. It has seven PoE ports and one uplink port in the Gigabit bandwidth. The internal buffer memory allows the switch to handle the high volume of data from several high-resolution cameras as well as high data loads. Jumbo frames can also be processed. The device is connected via a standard 24 V DC supply voltage – no special PoE power supply units are required.
REG switches for building installation
Versions for building installation
The 1100 series also includes versions with a suitable design for building automation. Their REG format in accordance with DIN 43880, means that they are specifically designed for use in building distribution boards. Accordingly, they enable a particularly space-saving installation for building technology directly in the building subdistribution.
In addition to the standard version with eight Gigabit-capable Ethernet ports (FL SWITCH 1108 REG), Phoenix Contact also offers a version with four standard ports and four PoE ports, which can also supply your connection devices with power at the same time (FL SWITCH 1104-4POE REG).

Managed PoE switches
The 4000 series PoE switches are suitable for use with PoE-driven high-power devices such as PoE++ cameras
Up to 60 W power per port
The 4000 series managed PoE switches supply end devices with up to 60 W per port. They are also suitable for use in applications with end devices that conform to the IEEE 802.3bt standard (PoE++), such as high-power cameras.
Additional functions include Gigabit SFP uplink ports with jumbo frame functionality for ensuring data integrity. This safeguards data transmission in all applications.
With the PoE watchdog function, you can monitor your PoE end devices to ensure that they are functioning correctly. Here, the switch sends a ping to the powered device (PD) at regular intervals. After a configurable number of unanswered pings, a power cycle is performed. The PD is restarted. With this approach, end devices that stop functioning due to a malfunction during operation can be returned to the correct state, without the intervention of service personnel. Alternatively, the PoE switch can also completely deactivate the PD.
With the PoE scheduler function, you can plan the days and times when the switch makes Power over Ethernet available to your end devices. This is useful when end devices are only needed at certain times of the day. You can thus reduce electricity consumption and the data load on your network during the rest of the time.
