IP67 switch mounted on an aluminum profile

The narrowest IP67 switch is just 30 mm wide

Compact, robust, for use practically anywhere

IP67 switches from Phoenix Contact are characterized by their particularly high degree of flexibility in terms of the mounting location: on a metal profile directly on the machine or on a wall. Because it can be fastened with just two M6 screws, it can, for example, be mounted directly on the structural profiles of the machines. This dispenses with laborious time-consuming preparation and attachment of mounting plates.
With the wide temperature range of -40°C to +70/+75°C, the robust switches can also be used in harsh ambient conditions.
Furthermore, the unmanaged IP67 switch 1605 is particularly narrow with an overall width of just 30 mm.

IP67 switch with one connected connector with M12 Push-Pull fast locking system and one classic M12 screw connection

Innovative M12 Push-Pull fast locking system and classic M12 screw connection combined in a single port

Flexible M12 connection technology

The flexible M12 connections of the IP67 switches enable both the use of classic M12 connectors with screw connection and the innovative M12 Push-Pull fast-locking system from Phoenix Contact. You can therefore integrate the switches either into existing applications with M12 cables already installed or take advantage of the very easy and quick to mount M12 Push-Pull fast locking system in new applications. The tool-free locking element offers significant advantages during installation in confined spaces or when the mating connector is difficult to see.

The coding of the M12 connections is in accordance with the common standards. Ethernet ports are available with D-coding (Fast Ethernet) or X-coding (Gigabit), while the power supply is with A-coding or L-coding (PROFINET versions).

Three FL SWITCH 2600 devices connected together with one power cable each

Supplying power made easy with the redundant power input/power output concept

Efficient power supply with minimum wiring work

The redundant power input/power output concept allows you to supply power to several switches or I/O stations highly efficiently with minimum cabling work. It is also possible to extend networks easily thanks to this concept.

1600 and 1700 series unmanaged IP67 switches

With the unmanaged IP67 switches of the 1600 and 1700 series, you can connect up to eight Ethernet-capable network devices directly in the field. In this case, the Plug and Play capability enables uncomplicated installation without configuration outlay. Thanks to its compact design and robust construction, the unmanaged IP67 switches of the 1600 and 1700 series are also suitable for mobile applications such as robotic tools, transport systems, and vehicle applications. The wide input voltage range enables operation in vehicles with 12, 24 or 48 V DC electrical system. The switches are also well suited for battery-powered applications due to their low current consumption.

Quality inspection in production using cameras

The FL SWITCH 1701-7POE is optimized for vision applications

PoE version for use in image processing

Control-cabinet-free image processing applications in production save space and simplify integration into existing system concepts. To this end, several cameras and associated LED lighting systems are connected directly to the Gigabit Ethernet network in the field.

The FL SWITCH 1701-7POE enables the decentral connection of cameras and field devices via Power over Ethernet (PoE) and is optimized for industrial image processing applications. It has seven PoE ports and one uplink port in the Gigabit bandwidth. With the internal buffer storage, the switch can handle the high volume of data from several high-resolution cameras and also high data loads. Jumbo frames can also be processed. The device is connected via a standard 24 V DC supply voltage – no special PoE power supply units are required.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Question and answer icon

The IP degree of protection specifies how well a device is protected against the ingress of dust and water. The first number indicates the dust tightness and the second number indicates the water tightness. IP67 means that a product is completely dust-tight and can be immersed in freshwater up to a depth of 1 m for up to 30 minutes without suffering damage.

Question and answer icon

Ethernet switches connect the various network devices in Ethernet-based networks. In general, a distinction must be made between two types of Ethernet switches: unmanaged switches and managed switches. In contrast to unmanaged switches, managed switches are configurable and provide a number of options for device configuration and diagnostics. Unmanaged switches, on the other hand, are not configurable and are therefore generally more cost-effective and can be used without network technology expertise.

Question and answer icon

  • The IP65 degree of protection states that a product is completely dust-tight and provides protection against jet water from any angle.
  • The IP66 degree of protection states that a product is completely dust-tight and provides protection against strong jet water from any angle.
  • The IP67 degree of protection states that a product is completely dust-tight and can survive at an underwater depth of up to 1 m for up to 30 min without damage.
  • The IP68 degree of protection states that a product is completely dust-tight and can withstand permanent underwater immersion at a depth of over 1 m without any damage. The exact depth and duration are determined by the manufacturer.
  • The IP69K degree of protection states that a product is completely dust-tight and can also withstand high-pressure and high-temperature water jets. This is particularly relevant in applications with intensive cleaning processes, such as in food processing and in the pharmaceutical industry.
