Creating Third-party Articles
Articles from other article suppliers can be created using the Third-Party Article function. You can add the third-party articles to the project and also to your library (article is available in the Insertion Center for future use).
To add a third-party article. click the Create Third-Party Article button in the Articles category in the Insertion Center and enter the article parameters (article will be placed as black box on the mounting rail; see the rules below). With activated Part of terminal strip check box, the article will be attached to and part of the terminal strip selected in the workspace. Activate the Add to library check box to add the article to the Insertion Center for reuse.
Rules for placement
Depending on the selection/visibility of elements in the workspace, the third-party article is placed as follows:
Selection/visibility in workspace | Placement |

No mounting rail is visible | Article is added to the Unplaced Elements container. |
Single mounting rail is visible | Article is placed on the mounting rail. |
Several mounting rails are visible | Article is placed on selected mounting rail.If no mounting rail/article on a mounting rail is selected, article is added to the Unplaced Elements container. |
Article on mounting rail selected | Article is placed next to the selected article. |
