Data Exchange Settings

When you start the export in the ECAD system, you can define the following settings for the export:

Export settingDescription
Devices to be exportedYou can select to export terminal strips/terminal blocks and equipment configured in your ECAD project.
In a second step, you can restrict the export to specific terminal strips/project nodes or even individual devices.

Note
You can export a maximum of 10 strips.

If you export individual devices only, these are placed on virtual mounting rails in cxE and you can place them on the required position there.
Import data from cxE after editingSelect whether you want to re-import your changes into the ECAD system.

Note
The checkbox can only be activated for the EPLAN Electric P8 export. EPLAN Pro Panel data exported to cxE cannot be re-imported into EPLAN Pro Panel.

If activated, the connection between the ECAD project and cxE is kept and the export dialog window remains open in the ECAD application.
In cxE, an additional ribbon section is displayed from which you can either send back the data to the ECAD system or decouple the project from the ECAD project.

Note
If you don't select this option in the wizard, there will be no connection to the ECAD application after the export and you cannot send the edited data back. If you select the option, however, you can still decouple the project later on in cxE.

Start auto-correction in cxEDefine how data should be processed and completed in cxE.

When all data has been imported, auto-correction is automatically started in cxE. The imported project is checked and the required accessories are added to the terminal strips.
Replace wire bridges by plug-in bridges If selected, cxE automatically replaces all wire connections defined in the circuit diagram by matching plug-in bridges, based on the relations and the mechanical design of the terminal blocks and bridges.

Note
If you don't select this option, the wire connections are not visible as bridges in cxE.
