With its app, PLCnext Technology partner Symcon offers a powerful solution for the integration, visualization, and implementation of individual applications in the KNX environment. This means that, in addition to the KNX system, other bus systems and I/O-based systems can also be easily connected, visualized, and logically linked together. This provides an ideal basis for customized functions and clear operating concepts. When combined with the CATAN C1 control platform, this creates real added value: CATAN C1 provides a structured foundation for automation and control based on clear rules and reliable standards. Building on this, Symcon handles the integration, visualization, and application-specific functions. This allows for the proper planning of energy and load management, as well as the targeted implementation of the requirements set out in Section 14a of the German Energy Industry Act and Section 9 of the German Renewable Energy Sources Act. Using the SPE connection (e.g., KNX EIB Y-(ST)-Y 2x2x0,8 bus line, green), up to 16 extension modules can be easily connected, even at a distance of up to 350 m.
A free PLCnext Store account is required to download the respective licenses from the PLCnext Store. These licenses can be purchased both in the PLCnext Store and from the respective provider.
CATAN C1 has three LAN ports, two USB-C connections, and two RS-485 interfaces. This allows the controller to be flexibly integrated into IP and fieldbus structures. Functions such as RSTP for loop protection and communication via two network cards also enable secure and segmented networks.
Using the optional CATAN CONTROL PANEL, local operation and maintenance can be performed directly on the controller or on the corresponding extension modules. This attachable display not only serves as a local override operating level, but also enables particularly straightforward servicing thanks to intuitive menu navigation and module-specific applications.
