The switchgear and controlgear assembly Data Collection Box (DCB) records signal and measured values in production networks by means of connected sensors. Digital, analog, and temperature signals can be acquired.
The Data Collection Box can be used in greenfield and brownfield plants. It can be easily integrated into an existing production environment. The data is captured in parallel so that, for example, the CE marking of the machines is not invalidated.
The main component of the Data Collection Box is a PLCnext Control with IIoT framework. Easy acquisition of energy and process data is possible via the IIoT framework. The Data Collection Box supports communication protocols such as Modbus and Profinet.
The incoming and outgoing signals as well as their scaling are configured via the web-based management system of the PLCnext Control. No programming knowledge is required. The captured data is time stamped, buffered in a standardized manner, and transferred to a higher-level system as needed.
The Data Collection Box is optimized for use with the switchgear and controlgear assembly Secure Edge Box (see “Accessories”). The Secure Edge Box as a gateway forwards the data of connected Data Collection Boxes to higher-level systems and, if necessary, to established cloud systems.
