Protection in hazardous and non-hazardous environments

Protect 24 V DC load systems in the oil, gas and process industries with EC-E electronic circuit breakers from Phoenix Contact. The EC-E has the necessary certifications for both hazardous and non-hazardous environments, including:

  • Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D
  • UL 1604
  • UL 2367 as a solid-state overcurrent protector

The remote reset version is ideal for use in remote locations. There’s no need to open a “hot ticket” unless absolutely necessary. An integrated slide switch allows easy manual operation.

 

The EC-E also offers:

  • Plug-in bridges to reduce wiring time
  • A 12.5 mm footprint – one of the narrowest circuit breakers on the market for Class I, Div. 2 applications
  • A faster response time to overload and short-circuit conditions than a power supply, thanks to built-in current limitation limited to 1.3 to 1.8 times the current capacity
  • Protection for capacitive circuits up to 20,000 μF

The EC-E is versatile enough for use in pharmaceutical, food and beverage and panel builder markets, where selective disconnection is vital.
