Enabling service-friendly testing

With FAME 3 you can combine complex test procedures into individual blocks.

FAME 3 combines the complex switching operations for function tests on current and voltage transformers, tripping and signal contacts into individual, compact, and space-saving blocks.

The system works according to the N/C contact principle and does not require an operating plug. The automatic transformer short circuit function is assured with plug-in bridges in the test disconnect socket.

The switch contact in the test disconnect socket is an N/C contact. In normal operating mode the contact is closed.

The N/C contact function of the FAME 3 system means that no additional operating plugs are required for normal operation. If desired, the plug-in zone can be covered and sealed with a blind plug to prevent unauthorized access.

When replacing the protective device or if conducting a relay test, the current transformer can be simply short circuited by inserting a transverse jumper into the plug in test socket prior to splitting the signal. This happens automatically when the test plug is inserted.

Using the single-position service plug the test equipment can be easily looped into the current path via the 4 mm test plug sockets.

The FAME 3 system has a patented rotary handle. This provides mechanical support for the removal of the test plug.

The system also has an optical display and forced locking in the various switch positions.
