Phoenix Contact engineers celebrate National Engineers Week by teaching local science class

Middletown, Pa. – Sixth-grade students in the Middletown Area School District in Middletown, Pa., are building catapults, racing cookie tins, and participating in other hands-on science activities this week. For the 12th consecutive year, Phoenix Contact engineers are celebrating National Engineers Week by teaching science class at the local school.

Phoenix Contact partners with the school every February to educate and inspire young students to consider careers in engineering. Activities for the week include building a catapult, racing cookie tins down a ramp, building an electric motor, and learning about static electricity through the Van de Graaff generator. The interactive lessons show combine theory and practice to make science fun.
