clipx WIRE assist

The workplace systems for efficient conductor preparation

In industrial control cabinet building, processes still feature a large number of manual work steps. There is still considerable potential in particular in conductor processing and preparation. These time-consuming activities account for more than half of the control cabinet manufacturer’s working hours.

The clipx WIRE assist worker assistance system from Phoenix Contact is a “tool” for exploiting this potential as far as possible in terms of economy and efficiency.

Your advantages

  • Convenient in application with intuitive user interfaces and simple data retrieval from CAE programs
  • High process reliability thanks to software-supported conductor preparation with direct device control
  • Efficiency and flexibility is increased with mobile application options and optimum positioning of hand tools, automatic tools, and printing systems

The necessary wiring information for the software-supported completion of the processes is exported from standard CAE programs and fed into the clipx WIRE assist. In addition, an integrated editor function also allows data to be compiled manually.

Based on this data, the clipx Wire assist software guides the operator through the partially automated conductor finishing process. At the same time, the devices in the worker assistance system are controlled directly and the necessary information for further processing and wiring is displayed on the monitor in an optically enhanced and easy-to-follow format.

Flexibility through ergonomic design

Flexibility through ergonomic design

The height-adjustable clipx WIRE assist workstation is designed to satisfy ergonomic requirements. One advantage of this is the ability to switch between sitting and standing while working, and it can also be adapted to the physical height of the operator and/or to the activity to be completed. The optimized positioning of the marking devices and automatic tools in the operator’s working area reduces the necessary reaching distances, which is another ergonomic benefit.

Flexibility through mobility

Flexibility through mobility

The worker assistance system stands on four industrial guide rollers with brakes, making it very mobile. This means that it can be installed anywhere where the work is to be performed, thus reducing or even eliminating unnecessary movements.

Structured through the use of the 5S principle

Lean principles, such as 5S, also help to eliminate any chaos and optimize organization. The shortest search-and-retrieve times are achieved through the use of multi-layer hard foam inserts in which each tool and aid has a predefined recess. Here, the tools that are used more frequently can be accessed easily and the tools used less often are positioned further away.
