Expert knowledge for your safety

Phoenix Contact expert training customers how to handle safety products

In the seminars, we provide you with expert knowledge regarding the Machinery Directive

With our seminar topics, we cover all the challenges presented by the European Machinery Directive with respect to the manufacture and placing on the market of machinery.

Depending on your requirements, we will provide you with the necessary knowledge about the basic legal requirements right down to detailed information for practical implementation.

Safety of machinery and legal certainty

A specialist lawyer will present the requirements of the applicable German legal provisions placed on machine manufacturers and operators in three sections:

  • Liability
  • Purchasing
  • Procedure in the event of a claim

At the end of each section, the practical implementation of the requirements will be explained by a safety engineer. You will then be familiar with the requirements from the applicable legal provisions and will have the necessary information for their practical implementation.

Implementation of EN ISO 13849-1

This seminar teaches you how to implement safety-related parts of the controller and determine reliability for safety functions in the form of the performance level. This is described in EN ISO 13849-1. In addition to the suitable hardware structures for safety controllers, you will learn about the process of creating safe software. After completing the course, you will be able to determine the required performance level of a safety controller and identify the necessary interfaces for the mechanics. You will be able to optimally configure safety controllers and will be familiar with both the basics and the procedure for calculating the achieved performance level. In addition, you will have an overview of the options available in the SISTEMA software, a tool used to evaluate safety functions.
