For the PT terminal blocks with Push-in connection technology, you can choose the ideal terminal block for every task, with a nominal diameter from 1.5 mm² to 185 mm².
Convenient connection: insert rigid conductors or conductors with ferrules from 0.25 mm² into the conductor shaft. The contact spring opens automatically and provides the required pressure force against the current bar. When installing smaller conductors from 0.14 mm², use a standard screwdriver to actuate the contact spring.
These terminal blocks utilize the advantages of the CLIPLINE complete system. These include being able to freely combine all connection technologies and the use of standardized system accessories.
The terminal blocks have two function shafts that enable fast and individual potential distribution. They are arranged in a line. This makes it possible to implement all the tasks of potential bridging within a short time.
Bridging between non-adjacent terminal blocks is established by removing individual contact tabs from the standard bridge. Two potentials can then be routed in parallel through a terminal strip.
The reducing bridge enables terminal blocks with different nominal cross sections to be connected easily. The reducing bridge can be used to quickly create power blocks, e.g., a 10 mm² terminal block with a 2.5 mm² or 4 mm² terminal block. Independent of the connection technology.
The bridge bars enable individual cross connections. In test disconnect terminal blocks, the bridges ensure a short circuit of the current transformer. They can be positioned on either side of the disconnect point in the bridge shaft and securely latched in place. The short-circuit switching operation, which must be performed deliberately with a tool, is safely executed with screw terminal points.
The COMBI connection system enables the time-saving and modular configuration of your application. Its distinguishing feature is the standardized plug-in zone. This plug-in zone enables terminal blocks and plugs to be combined to suit the application, regardless of the connection technology.
All test plugs in the system make contact in the freely accessible function shaft. A test plug with 2.3 mm diameter is available for individual measuring lines. More complex testing tasks can be implemented using alignable test plugs. Test adapters can be assembled individually and are ideal for use in test laboratories.
Stay flexible: even if the double function shaft is already in use with a bridge, you still have easy access to the test point. You can perform all of the necessary measurements in the additional test contact with a test plug.
All terminal blocks have tall and flat marker grooves. Tall marker grooves are primarily used for terminal marking. They accommodate larger, tall terminal markings. Flat marker grooves, which are often used for marking individual terminal points, are used to accommodate smaller, flat markings. All materials are available unprinted or marked according to your requirements.
The PTV terminal blocks combine the advantages of tool-free Push-in connection with the lateral conductor routing of a screw terminal block. The tool-free Push-in direct connection technology thus ensures time-saving conductor connection with low conductor insertion forces and high vibration resistance. The lateral conductor routing of the terminal blocks also enables clearly arranged wiring without bending radii. The resulting straight conductor routing from the terminal block to the cable duct makes it much easier to attach and read wire markings.
With the Push-in connection, you can insert conductors from 0.25 mm² directly and without tools. To insert conductors from 0.14 mm², simply press the orange push button.
The lateral conductor routing enables you to implement clearly arranged wiring without bending radii. This wiring direction also makes it easier to attach and read wire markings.
Thanks to the double function shaft, the PTV terminal blocks can be bridged with standard plug-in bridges and reducing bridges from the CLIPLINE complete system.
The test points guarantee an easy and safe testing option. The flat contact on the current bar ensures reliable test results.
Flexible bridgeability and optimum marking options make feed-through terminal blocks the universal connection technology solution. With multi-conductor terminal blocks from Phoenix Contact, you can connect up to four conductors with individual wiring at each terminal point.
The PTV fuse terminal blocks enable the space-saving and clear integration of fuses in your system. The lever enables the quick and convenient replacement of fuses.
Rigid conductors or conductors with ferrules can be inserted directly into the terminal block without using tools.
The contact spring is opened automatically when the conductor is pushed in and provides high contact and conductor pull-out forces. Conductors with a nominal cross section can be wired with ferrules and insulating collars.
The litz wires of compacted conductors can be contacted directly without using any tools.
Multi-stranded conductors can be contacted directly without using any tools.
The high-current terminal blocks with the newly developed Power-Turn connection technology provide you with the fastest and most user-friendly connection option currently available for wiring large conductors. Contact conductors up to 185 mm² by simply swiveling the operating lever – and you're done!
Alternatively, conductors can also be quickly and easily inserted directly when the lever is closed by means of the integrated Push-in Technology.
The Push-in connection technology is tested for maximum vibration and shock resistance. The test runs through a frequency range of 5 Hz to 150 Hz at an acceleration of up to 5.72 m/s². The test objects are tested on each of the three axes (x, y, z). No contact interruptions greater than 1 μs are permitted during the test. Push-in connection technology meets these high requirements in terms of vibration and also shock loads up to 350g.
Correctly wired conductor contact points must offer a high degree of mechanical safety. Requiring up to 50 percent lower conductor insertion force, Push-in connection technology achieves 180 N in the conductor pull-out test of a 2.5 mm² terminal block with a 1.0 mm² conductor, for example, where only 35 N is required in accordance with the standard.
Particularly in shipbuilding, technical components have to function continuously in corrosive atmospheres. The salt content of the air combined with the increased humidity places high demands on the metal parts used. Push-in terminal blocks produce gas-tight connections. This means that the contact point is protected against corrosion even under extreme climatic conditions.
Conductor contact points must, in practice, also be capable of withstanding short-circuit currents, without sustaining any damage, until the relevant safety equipment cuts off the power. This can take up to several tenths of a second. Maximum contact reliability, even under extreme overload, illustrated with a plug-in Push-in terminal block.
The pivotal role of the metal parts of electrical connections becomes particularly apparent in aggressive environments. A test method describes a corrosion test in condensation climates with an atmosphere that contains sulfur dioxide. The Push-in connection technology creates high-grade, gas-tight connections that are not impaired even by aggressive substances.
Using a two-chamber method, the Push-in terminal blocks are subjected to sudden temperature changes from -55°C to +100°C. PT terminal blocks are designed for extreme durability even under difficult temperature conditions. Plastic as well as metal parts provide sufficient safety reserves.
Insulating housings made from elastic and impact-resistant plastic: recyclable, halogen-free, and UV-resistant, good resistance to tropical conditions and termite resistance, operating temperatures up to 130°C, high chemical resistance, outstanding aging characteristics, certification in accordance with UL 94 for flammability rating V0.
Push-in connection technology from Phoenix Contact enables you to wire your entire application easily and safely.
A complete product range is available for every stage of your product, from field wiring through to power and control wiring. You can easily connect sensors and actuators, terminal blocks, and interface and automation components without using any tools.
