Business cards with photo portrait

Business cards with photo portrait

left: business card in national language (German), right: business card in English

Employees with external business contacts use business cards with a photo portrait. These cards still arouse positive reactions from the recipients, thus contributing to a good image.

Employees with domestic contacts choose the one-sided business card in the national language. International contacts are supported with double-sided print on the business card e.g. in national language / English. The normal business card is to be used in countries where cultural aspects are against using this card.

Design instructions for business cards with photo portrait

With photographs that are not taken at Headquarters in Blomberg, the following guidelines have to be considered.

Create a digital photograph of the person. The person is depicted in portrait, the body turned sideways in a 45° angle. For more detailed information on the photograph setting for the photographer please see the lighting sketch.

The background is a gradient gray. Thus, the contours of darker or lighter clothes are similarly clear. The isolated portrait is inserted in Photoshop as a level.

Export the file as an eps-file and join with the logo, the signal chain and the background.

The typeset in the standard house font "PxC GillAltOneMT" is carried out in a DTP program, e.g. InDesign. The maximum number of lines is limited to 12 lines. The eps image file is imported as background here.

QR code on business card

Storing the the contact address has now been made easier by printing the QR code on the back of the card. QR code generators are freely available in the Internet. At Phoenix Contact, the following information is stored in the QR code:

Forename, surname
Job function
Telephone number
E-mail address

Dimensionings [PDF, 24 KB]

The printing is carried out on 300 g/m2 paper. We use the type Maxissatin. The business cards are covered with printing varnish for protection after offset printing. When produced in printing on demand, no printing varnish is used due to quicker drying times.
