Promotional graphics

Graphics for communicating in the marketing environment

Graphics for Phoenix Contact are designed simply so that they can be easily grasped and understood. If possible, the graphics should function without or with very little text. They are always set on a white background to ensure optimum legibility. In the following, you will find a description on how the individual graphic elements can be used, for example, in topologies, diagrams, and charts. The contents are continually updated and are mandatory.

Applications

3D application objects

Application object on the left, application world on the right

Products from other companies, machines, and buildings are used as application objects.

In addition to application objects, there are application worlds (landscapes/industries) that can be used for charts (e.g., with marking line). Even complex illustrative graphics such as cross sections of subsections are rendered in this style.

Connecting lines/cables

Connecting lines/ cables

Cable colors

  • Do not allow lines to run over elements
  • use specified line colors and in the case of complex graphics, explain in the key
  • Arrange lines vertically and horizontally only, not diagonally
  • Lines lead to the product independent of connections
  • For graphics with more than one wireless connection, dashed lines can be used in addition to the radio waves to illustrate the connections in a clearer way
  • use dotted lines if a cable is possible but not absolutely necessary
  • Use dotted lines on the edge if a cable does not end within the topology of the area illustrated
  • Make sure that lines to other graphics have the same width. Rule of thumb: design the topology on A4 with a line width of 0.75 pt
  • In the case of a dotted line of 0.75 pt, use a gap of 5 pt between the individual dots

Marking lines

Marking lines

Examples of marking lines

In the case of markings or the depiction of a product within a 3D application world or a 3D application object, a neutral black or turquoise-colored line is used with a period at the end. The period can be adjusted in Adobe Illustrator under “Arrow heads”, whereby the scaling is 70%.
