Phoenix Contact takes over specialist in network control technology

Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co KG from Blomberg has taken over Mauell Netzleittechnik GmbH from Velbert to 100 percent.

With the integration of the automation specialist in energy networks in the Company Group, Phoenix Contact continues its sustainable growth strategy in the energy market.

The company from Velbert emerged from the parent company Mauell GmbH in fall last year. At the same time, Phoenix Contact took a share in the new company.

Mauell Netztleittechnik is a manufacturer of components as well as systems and has extensive know-how in the automation of transformer stations and decentralized distribution networks. Its customers are renowned operators of transmission and distribution networks in the energy industry.

At present, the company has 80 employees; its headquarters will still be located in Velbert. The Executive Board will consist of Axel Eberhardt of Phoenix Contact as well as Dirk Riesenberg of Mauell Netztleittechnik. The takeover mainly provides synergies in the area of research and development as well as sales in Germany and worldwide. Since April 1, the company has done business under the name “Phoenix Contact Energy Automation GmbH”.

Phoenix Contact uses the complete takeover for the strategic and technological establishment of its market position in the energy sector.
