Automation specialist Phoenix Contact's strengths as a Top Employer for Engineers have again been confirmed by the Top Employers Institute; the independent research institute awarded the family-run company first place as the “Top Employer for Engineers 2016”.

Phoenix Contact underlines its continual dedication to achieving an attractive and safe working environment for its employees. “In a working environment that undergoes rapid technical changes, the qualification of all employees is of key importance. It is important to us to involve employees in all processes as it is their expertise that drives our success. Right now this is particularly important in terms of the changes that will come about with Industrie 4.0”, explains Prof. Dr. Olesch, from the Phoenix Contact Executive Board. “This 1st place achievement shows that we are on the right path.”

For the second time since 2012, Phoenix Contact has become the overall winner of this certification for employers thanks to its excellent personnel strategy and employee focus. It is the ninth time the company has been recognized as a “Top Employer for Engineers”. The company was awarded points for the future-oriented further development of its employees and its continued optimization of the work environment. “This sustainable approach feeds directly into the economic development of Phoenix Contact”, states Olesch.

The multi-stage research and audit process confirmed the holistic concept of the personnel strategy. Steffen Neefe from the Top Employers Institute explains, “Our detailed investigation found Phoenix Contact to have created an excellent environment for employees while offering a broad range of creative initiatives. These range from training and development to working conditions, right through to performance management that is consistent with the company culture”.

The survey analyzes the personnel management and strategy of the family-run medium-sized company as well as globally-operating companies with an above-average number of engineers. It provides important insights for both motivated graduates and engineers seeking a career change and examines the value placed by companies on talent strategy, career prospects, work-life balance, and training and development as well as company culture.
