Spectacular cyber attacks, such as WannaCry or NotPetya, which have infected the computers of well-known companies are increasingly making media headlines.

In an era of end-to-end communication from field level to the office, this type of malware is spreading even faster and doing more harm. Against this backdrop, Phoenix Contact is hosting the seventh MGuard Cyber Security Conference (formerly the MGuard User Conference). At the Ruhrturm in Essen on October 17 and 18, 2017, security experts will present informative topics to users. These will include the current legal framework, new approaches, and reliable solution concepts.

The Chemnitz University of Technology will give a keynote lecture analyzing cyber security structures in Germany, for example, while Stuxnet expert Ralph Langner will explain methods and tools for stable digital infrastructures. Tutorials will cover ICS cyber security awareness as well as the contents and application of the relevant standard: IEC 62443. As part of simulation training, attendees will run through the implementation of ICS cyber security in an energy scenario. In addition, users will talk about their experiences, such as the secure remote maintenance of injection molding machines and a protection concept for critical infrastructures.
