Dr.-Ing. Heinz Wesch, born in 1951, studied mechanical engineering with the main emphasis on production technology at the RWTH Aachen. After his diploma in 1978, he worked as a scientific employee at the chair for production systematics graduating in 1983.
From 1983 – 1990, he worked at Blaupunkt GmbH, starting as the Head of Process Planning for the car radio plant in Salzgitter, later he became the Head of Process Planning and Prototype Construction in the main plant in Hildesheim. During this time, Heinz Wesch was significantly involved in the shift of the car radio production from Salzgitter to Hildesheim, Braga (Portugal) and Penang (Malaysia). As representative Head of Workshop from 1990 – 1992, Heinz Wesch was responsible for the production of control devices at Robert Bosch GmbH in Reutlingen.
In October 1992, Heinz Wesch became Head of Production at Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG in Blomberg. This company is one of the international market leaders in electric connection, electronic interface and automation technology and employs 14.500 employees worldwide. With a high production depth, more than 90 percent of the products are produced in own plants at home and abroad. As Executive Vice President Heinz Wesch is responsible for the Corporate Production Network as well as for internal Tool and Mechanical Engineering, Materials Logistic and the Integrated Management System.
Dr. Wesch is a member of the technical committee SYMPRO (Symposium Produktion).
