Prof. Dr. Gunther Olesch

Prof. Dr. Gunther Olesch, born in 1955, studied psychology at the “Ruhr“ University in Bochum and graduated in economic psychology in 1984. From 1979 until 1985, Gunter Olesch worked in a personnel consultancy in Bochum mainly responsible for the selection and training of personnel. At Thyssen Edelstahlwerke AG in Krefeld, Gunther Olesch established and responsibly managed the business divisions Training and Personnel Development from 1985 to 1989.

Gunther Olesch joined Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co KG in 1989. This company is one of the international market leaders in electric connection, electronic interface and automation technology and employs 14.500 employees worldwide. As Executive Vice President Gunther Olesch is responsible for Human Resources and Informatics including the areas Personnel Management, Personnel Development, Informatics and Organization as well as Law.

Prof. Dr. Gunther Olesch furthermore is an assistant lecturer at the Technical University Lippe in Lemgo as well as a board member of the Employers’ Association Lippe e.V.. In addition to this, he is a member of the vocational training committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Lippe, Detmold as well as honorary Labour Court judge at the Labour Court Detmold.  Gunther Olesch is a member of the steering committee of the National Electric Mobility Platform and chairs the working group "Qualification and Training".
