Our product highlights at SPS IPC Drives

Phoenix Contact offers a comprehensive portfolio of products and solutions in the field of automation and digitalization that are impressive in regards to both quality and security in the age of the Internet of Things (IoT). We would like to introduce you to a selection of these in the following to give you a preview.

Experience the All-in-One solution for industrial identification with the new BLUEMARK ID generation. Using environmentally friendly UV LED technology, these devices process over 1350 different marking materials. BLUEMARK ID COLOR provides marking in color for the first time as well. Operating the printer is intuitive, thanks to its touch display. The clear menu structure offers lots of additional support, from how-to videos to automatic material recognition.

The PROJECT complete planning and marking software gives you complete support when designing your control cabinet. Import your electrical plans with a click of the mouse via interfaces to all popular CAE programs. The software automates many of the steps involved in designing your terminal strip and creating suitable marking. Then order your fully assembled product directly on line. In this way, PROJECT complete becomes your digital interface in control cabinet manufacturing.

Re-discover motor starter technology with safety. The new CONTACTRON pro version offers easy safety integration with safety evaluation and group shutdown in accordance with PL e, and is modularly expandable.

The new PTFIX system for individual potential distribution consists of ready-to-connect blocks in eleven color options, varying numbers of positions and mounting types, along with cross sections from 1.5 to 4 mm² in Push-in technology. These blocks with up to 18 contact points can be combined as needed and mounted on DIN rails or direct-mounted or installed with adhesive. Using the online configurator, you can meet all your needs – and do so with pricing information and rapid order options.

The trend toward miniaturization is continuing without interruption in the field of network cabling as well. The new compact M8 connectors supply the smallest devices with Ethernet and PROFINET, and offer up to 30% in space savings compared to M12 connectors. The symmetrically arranged contacts provide secure data transmission. Field devices are supplied with power simultaneously via Power over Ethernet.

The number of cable connections is increasing due to the ever increasing networking of intelligent manufacturing systems. Modular industrial connectors are the solution in this case. With HEAVYCON modular, you can flexibly combine contact inserts for power, signals, data, and compressed air in one housing. The new online configurator provides you with ideal support for designing and ordering your tailor-made connector.

Standards DIN VDE 0100-443 and DIN VDE 0100-534 specify when surge protection is required in low-voltage systems and where and how it must be installed. A revised edition of both standards has been in effect since October 1, 2016. The transition period for manufacturing already initiated plans and implementation ends on December 14, 2018. Come by our booth to learn more about the mandatory options for protecting buildings along with other useful options.

Ideally suited for simple, space-saving potential distribution: The PTCB single-channel electronic circuit breaker can be bridged to the CLIPLINE complete terminal block system. It offers a setting range from 1 to 8 ampere with a very small overall width. We will be introducing other product versions just in time for the SPS. Come by our booth and learn more about the universal device circuit breaker with a 6 mm overall width.

Protect your power supply system with just the right electronic circuit breakers. You can easily find just the right product for your application in our portfolio. Take advantage of the easiest handling during startup as well.

With the Fine Pitch series board-to-board connectors, Phoenix Contact is providing shielded and unshielded solutions for signal and data transmission for the first time. This range enables you to realize individual PCB orientations with different designs, stack heights, and numbers of positions in the compact 0.8 and 1.27 mm pitches.

M17-M40 PRO series circular connectors offer uniform solutions for signal and power transmission. Thanks to the unique ONECLICK fast locking system, you can connect your device quickly and safely. The non manufacturer-specific connection compatibility enables you to realize versatile solutions for standard and fast locking systems.

Modular ICS series electronics housings form the basis for tomorrow's IoT devices: Take advantage of the unique modularity in the connection technology, with standardized connections such as RJ45, USB, D-SUB, and antenna sockets as integrated components. Furthermore, you can also benefit from a housing system with graduated sizes and optional DIN rail connectors.

Our tips for your visit to SPS IPC Drives

You will find our personal tips for your visit based on two decades of trade fair experience here.

The Nuremberg Exhibition Center can be reached easily and quickly by car, train, plane, or public transportation. U-Bahn (subway/underground) lines U1 and U11 (toward Langwasser Süd) will take you directly from the main railway station to the Exhibition Center. The journey time from the main railway station to the trade fair is only eight minutes.

Just enter Nuremberg into your navigation system. One of the most modern traffic and parking direction systems in Europe will guide you to your destination. Dynamically adjusted to the current traffic situation, it will direct you along uncongested approaches and to one of around 14,000 parking spaces around the Exhibition Center.

Demand for hotels near the Exhibition Center is high during SPS IPC Drives. If you are looking for something a bit farther away, the city of Nuremberg and its immediate surroundings offer perfect accommodation opportunities. It is worth a look: the surrounding communities also offer inns and interesting accommodation options where you can relax after an exhausting day at the trade fair.
