SISTEMA software utility

SISTEMA software utility

The SISTEMA software utility from the BGIA Institute for Occupational Safety and Health of the German Social Accident Insurance provides assistance with the safety evaluation of control systems within the scope of EN ISO 13849-1.

Based on planned architectures, the Windows tool simulates the structure of the safety-related parts of a control system (SRP/CS). It therefore calculates reliability values at various levels of detail including the achieved performance level (PL).

In this way, you can determine various criteria step by step:

  • Risk parameters for determining the required performance level (PLr)
  • Category
  • Measures to prevent common cause failure (CCF) in multi-channel systems
  • Average component quality (MTTFd)
  • Average test quality (DCavg) of components and blocks

The effect of every parameter change on the overall system is displayed directly and can be printed out as a report.
