I & C Energo a.s. was founded in 1993 and is a subsidiary of power company CEZ a.s. based in the Czech Republic.
The leading engineering and supplier company offers its services worldwide.
I & C Energo is particularly active in the field of measuring and control systems, information systems for industry, and electrical systems, including support for system integration and design.
In cooperation with Emerson Process Management, s.r.o., I & C Energo was awarded the contract for the modernization of the control system of two generation units in the Layyah natural gas power station in 2007.
Like most of the plants in the Gulf states, the Layyah power station is a co-generation power desalting plant (CPDP).
It is operated by SeWa (Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority).
Within the scope of modernization of the control system, Phoenix Contact UT and URTK modular terminal blocks were used. The CLIP PROJECT planning program was used to configure the modernization project.
Due to their narrow design, actuator and sensor versions of PLC relays are used to couple signals between the 24 V control level and the 110 V system I/O devices.
The QUINT POWER power supply unit – with active function monitoring via LED status indicators – stabilizes the voltage in the secondary circuit.
Phoenix Contact is a member of the Alliance Supplier Program of Emerson Process Management.
This accreditation and the fact that projects had been successfully implemented in the past using Phoenix Contact components led to the approval and collaboration of I & C Energo, SEWA, and Phoenix Contact for the Layyah project.
Thanks to the use of Phoenix Contact products such as QUINT POWER power supply units it was possible to modernize the existing control cabinets – without needing additional space which would increase costs.
