Thanks to the integrated PROFINET IO device, PROFINET IRT switches are ideal for use in PROFINET conformance class B and C networks. The switches can be fully configured and diagnosed via STEP 7 and PC Worx.

The Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP) ensures a guaranteed switch-over time of 200 ms in the event of an error.

In addition, the Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) allows you to automatically define your network topology.

With the FL SWITCH IRT, PROFINET fiber optic paths can be diagnosed and the diagnostic data made available to the controller.

You can therefore continuously monitor the quality of your fiber optic paths. For improved assessment of the fiber optic path, the IRT switches also make the distances between two devices in the PROFINET device available.
