If you, as the operator, make changes to your machinery, it is possible that your role may consequently change to that of a manufacturer. In this case, you are responsible for ensuring that the machinery again conforms with all relevant EU directives.
Likewise under certain circumstances, all the duties and responsibilities of a manufacturer of a complete machine will pass to you if you interlink existing or new machinery for a production system under your own authority.
During the consultation on changes to machinery, we will present the legal aspects of significant changes to machinery together with their implications. This is presented on the basis of German and Austrian legal provisions. We will explain the possible decision-making criteria for the classification of the planned changes. This will allow you to determine whether the change is a significant change. In addition, we will present a template document for the evaluation and classification of all relevant aspects. We will explain the contents in detail using the evaluation of at least one change as an example. You can use the completed template document as verification of the analysis results.
